Originally designed as part of the specialist sports, or Spezial, collections of the late 70s and early 80s, the Handball Cup SPZL draws from the infamous Handball Spezial a shoe that played a role in the naming of adidas SPZL. To create a new design that feels archival, the proportions of the upper have been altered with a shortened toebox and T-toe, plus the addition of a swooping overlay that bulks up the heel.
